Will angle iron bolted to inner fender support a deck?

i think this is a awesome idea.lots of work and planning are going into it.id like to see the finished product and also how much it cost overall to build such a box.

Thanks. Yeah, the guys here are so helpful with design and functionality. It takes planning because I want lots of versatility and I also like to overbuild - if the rig rolls, the deck may be the only thing left intact /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I will take pics when I get it done. I'm on design #9. I just may have to secure the back part to the bed floor at the tailgate to ensure security, which I wanted to avoid, but may not be able to.

Still working on the design of the section towards the rear seat too. Think I'm going to go with a loose joint hinge between the front and back sections. and maybe even a way to hang them up out of the way inside the shell top. Now need to support the section by the rear seat independent of the tailgate part and may go with a bolt setup into the bed that will also have a plate underneath the deck to hold it up as well as secure it to the bed floor at the same time.

My guess is that after all this planning and talk, the design will be a simple one. /forums/images/icons/ooo.gif Would be nice if it was also a clever one, and not just me taking the long and dorky road from complexity to DUHsville. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif
