Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

cool beans dude...

Thanks.

Sounds fairly easy to install. I'm gonna try to install it tonight or tomorrow night. So if you're free /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. If not, it's cool dawg. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Winchester Auto is going to be able to get it for me today.

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

How much was yours? Winchester told me $93! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

something like that. did you get the one that takes pipe fittings? i think there is a difference, or something like that.

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

yeah, I got the one with the fittings. I'm not sure if the cooler I have is a oil cooler or tranny cooler so I just got the one with the fitting. I think I need them anyway... I'll just replace the existing ones if that's the case.

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

I was actually going to get that one but it didn't come with the installation components. I may have screwed myself it my junk already has a tranny cooler on it but I'll just replace all the old components, I guess. I hope the install is as easy as it sounds /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif.

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

don't we have 3/8" fittings on our tranny lines? how do you get a 1/2" fitting to connect? adapters and hoses? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

yup

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

some of the hayden kits have the thread to stock adapters.

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

Summit has it for $60!!! by the way, that one doesn't come with an installation kit so you'll need fittings, hose, and whatever you plan to use to attach it. That's definitely the one to get though /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

Hey Chris, whatever you do, make sure that you still use the existing tranny cooler in the radiator as well as the aftermarket one. If you don't do this then you will overheat the tranny in the summer and run it too cold in the winter.

Uh oh... I didn't mess with the radiator, I just pulled the old one out and replaced it with the new one. Is that right?

What's he talking about? He wont be able to reply till tonight. Anyone? /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

if you had an auxiliary tranny cooler on already, and you just swapped for your new one, then you should be fine. The cooler lines should run from the tranny, to your radiator, to the aux cooler, and back to the tranny.

Re: will this size tranny cooler fit on my K5?

If you don't go wheeling where it freezes you don't need to run it through the radiator. I don't and my 700R4 runs at 140. 155 in this 100+ weather. I have the same cooler, just had a hard time getting it to fit and not pick up mud when I go deep.
