What year and what engine if it has one? You can still get everything you need to rebuild either the flat head four or the six.

I have a 45 Willys...any Willys would be worth it...but I'm just a girl...so what do I know

You have a 45 Willys, proof not all chics know nothing.:D

Thanks, love old trucks, they are built to last and love the mean look they have and the sound of the roaring engine, yeah it's good!

Matt, PLEASE fix the spelling on Willys. ;)

Also in case anyone is interested to know there are two versions of the 4 cylinder engine for a Willys, one is called an L head (flathead with all valves in the block) and then there's an F head (intake valves are in the head and the exhaust valves are in the block).

There aren't many chicks who even get into working on, rebuilding or restoring vehicles of any kind.

So what part of Cali are you from?

Northern by Redding. I've worked on my truck (Blazer not Jeep) a bit but nothing like what you guys do here. I would love to learn because I have many things left undone and would love to get them done. My big thrill is hearing the sound of the engine though, and that's all running awesome.

I've done very little on the Jeep, just brakes...my baby is my Blazer though.

Redding is about 3 1/2 hours north of me.

If you don't already know, if you ever need any parts for the Willys there is Ron Fitzpatricks Jeep Parts up in Grants Pass, Oregon. They bought all of Archer Brothers parts when Archer Brothers closed a bunch of years ago. Archer Brothers was a HUGE Willys/Jeep parts place in Hayward/San Leandro Ca. not far from me. Fitzpatricks number is 800-600-JEEP (5337)

aw man, I remember Archer Brothers...got parts from there all the time. Lived in San Leandro for a few years. That's a bummer that they closed. Thanks for the number of Fitzpatricks!

I think maybe I live in the wrong place...

A good friend is engaged to a chick that grew up in Redding. She's always riding copilot in the the LX450 if we go offroad...
ONe time she helped lay down sticks, branches, and shovel snow for a couple hours straight so that we could get the trucks out of a valley that we got snowed into. (she volunteered to help- never complained once). Most of the women I know don't want to be there - and if they were; "it's cold...", "it's dirty...", "I told you we should have stayed home...", "we're never doing this again...".
I was impressed. Had to pull my buddy aside and tell him if he wasn't going to marry her, I might be interested. :D
