Ok well im finanlly gona start working on the 72 this year!!!:D
Gona sell all my other crap and rip apart my other blazer and build my dream cruiser. 72 Blazer with my 406 (which im gona beef up a tad) Th400 with my np205 twin stick. 6 inch lift (maybe a 2" body) With 37x12.5x20 with some nice treads. Simple clean look (mostly street queen/show truck) Silver paint with blue tribal flames. grey leather interior and carpet. nice system nothing to flashy.

need to decide if i wana put the winch on it or just mount it on my trailer and keep the factory bumpers.

So if ya got some bumper pics post them up im looking for ideas!
Thanks

I have a fairly nice '72 but I wheel it pretty good and don't have a winch. Yours sounds like it may be nicer than mine so do you really plan on wheeling enough to require a winch?

I have a 12000K winch. I have it on my 89 blazer but im gona tear that one apart. i think im just gona mount it on trailer. It sits in a reciever cradle so it is portable if i need it. As for wheeling the street queen no. Only offroading it will see is maybe a field or to and drivin the groceries up my back yard!

No reason you can't keep your stock bumbers and have a winch too.

I didn't have to move my bumper forward at all. The majority of the effort was cutting the winch mount plate to fit correctly and not just between the frame rails but also how much space the winch would have on either side.

This is the winch: Costco 299 special -

This is the mounting plate that came with it:

I'll take some pictures tonight and show you how I made it fit and moved the control module to the wheel well. I connot find any photos here at work.
