Im the guy with the Patriot 15000 bumper/mount DP made. As my truck is continually one big piece of turd, I have not even got it mounted yet, still buzy at the tranny shop. DP's work is top notch, I would not hesitate to steal his ideas on any given day. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Plenty of room down between the rails. Here's a pic of Stomper's new front. This one has an RE12000 mounted between the rails. I also fabbed one that mounts a Patriot 15000 between the rails.

I have an M12000 Between the frame rails on the front, really improves the approach ange when you stuff the winch way back there. If/When I Get a another 12000 or M15000, I'll stuff it behind the propane tank out back too! works good! the only thing that is a bitch to get to is the clutch/directional lever.

ok.. im thinking of this now.. I already have the plans for a 12k mm hydraulic for front and 12k electric for rear... but I have a few questions as this is my illiterate section... as most are.. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

ok so if I take out the chinsey factory tire holder from under my truck... there is plenty of room to put a winch under there... what size metal should I use and how do you make it strong so it doesnt buckle? Im thinking of cutting my double tube rear bumper and mounting a roller fairlead in it as to give a clean look.

also looking at doing the hydraulic under the front... but I dont have alot of room.. I would like to get that baby under there and do the same with the front bumper.. fit that roller farilead in there for a clean look..... what size steel for that? just a piece of flat metal bolted between the rails? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

any info greatly apprecaited.....

here are 2 pics to show what I am working with.. but the rear bumper is not on the truck yet.. but there is room..
i got to put my rear detroit in and new hawgs on saturday.. tore the front apart but didnt have the pinion socket.. and i was given the wrong ujoints.. so i still have to put the front together... /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Hey to all,

I mounted a Patriot 15000 on my M1008 2 weeks ago. It's my daily driver and I wanted to maintain the front bumper/guard combo to keep it street legal here in germany and to maintain the HD frame extensions/pintle hooks.
First idea was to mount it between the rails. But with the guard mounted to the bumper there's no way to fit that monster between the frame /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
So we decided to mount it in front and use the guard and mainly the pintle hooks as fixings. Now the fairlead is about 25cm (10" in the non-metric world) in front of the original bumper and about 80cm (31") from the ground. Not to bad I think, however the first 4x4 test tomorrow wil show . . .

Unfortunately I've no digital camera at the moment (winch+overseas shipping+taxes were to much euros:(). Asap I will show some photos here.

Keep the good works on!!

Regards. Walter
