i see that you cut the plate already, but what i did is mounted the sides plates level first then the top plate on top of that, something like this..

I may still be able to do it like that. Does it just not bolt to the top rail that way? I left some overhang on the sides because I am planning on welding the side tabs to the winch plate anyway.

I don't want to do it between the frame rails I like how it looks and I don't really want it sideways down there and it won't fit upright. I have a tube bumper that is gonna go on around this mount.

It's a Warn 9500Ti

I'd make those brackets but I would bend the plate level and move the winch back more.

Then if it where me, I'd put diamond plate across the front and under those brackets for a skid plate and it would also help reinforce the brackets /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

Re: Winch mount started (PICS) and question

Thanks for all the ideas everybody I think I'm gonna have the plate bent down to be little and the side paltes welded to the winch palte and bolted to the frame. Box up the front and then I have the project of getting my bumper to fit on around it. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif Will post more pics as I go along /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Re: Winch mount started (PICS) and question

If I can find a set by tomorrow maybe?? What are they made of can I weld them to the plate? I'll prolly just call the fab shop in the morning and see if they can put a little bend in it for me /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: Winch mount started (PICS) and question

Hey maybe we should ask steve for a photoshop/manipulation forum. Where those who don't have the tools could ask some one else to do it. They could post thier pic with descriptions and ideas and someone else could draw it up. Just a thought. I know I wouldn't mind helping someone in my spare time.

Got a little bit more done on this mount. I had a slight bend put in the plate to level it out. Just have to do a little grinding, and weld it up tomorrow. Also have to box up the front.

Also need to try and get this bumper to fit over it. Prolly gonna have to cut it up a little and weld it back so it's all one piece again. Any ideas? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I wanna tuck it back more towards the truck.

Lookin good!

I like how you got the winch mounted flat even though it sticks out a bit. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Yeah, but now that it's flat I will prolly trim some off the front of that plate, and maybe taper the sides a bit too. I was looking at the hybrid 4x4 Iron bumper like Steve's, and it looks to stick out about the same amount. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Looking good. I like how your bumper is nice and simple. If I had to have that overhang (which is one of the reasons I went multimount) I'd probably turn the bumper into a convenient place to stand for working on the motor.
