know anything bad about a t-max and milemarker winches? bigger motors and half the price. or should i suck it up and buy a warn? any opinions?

Don't buy a Milemarker or TMAX. Both are dropped shipped directly from China and use inferior parts. Stick with USA either a Ramsey or warn.

Saw a article in the Jeep Mag and they are praising Superwinch. I almost got one but i found a screaming deal on a Warn 12k.

Superwinch is made in China too...

edit...

The EP and EPI series along with the atv winches are made in China...

I waited and found a WARN M10000 for $260 :D . I have used it everytime I have been out since I bought it( helping others too). For what I have used it for, I feel a cheaper winch would have givin up:doah: . In certin situations the winch was the only choice and we needed it to be reliable. The WARN is still ready for more :D

I love my Warm, its the basic M 8000, that I bought used, and it has not let me down yet. If I were buying new I would go Warn or Ramsey.

I'm looking at a used 8274 or a New Pat or rep 9500

go big or go home!!!!!! :haha:

my bud has a 9k warn... and was impressed when I unspooled my 7/16 aircraft cable winch cable!!!!! :wink1:

I wish I had about 1500 to spend on a winch, but I don't. I would rather put that extra money into my 60 which It needs alot of work.

Warn makes the best winch, IMO. The only thing I'd want from any other winch brand might be the Ramsey remote control. I bought my 8274 used several years ago, and it's at least 20 years old. I keeps going and going..... I have seen a Ramsey fail at an event sponsored by Ramsey - kind of embarrassing.

Absolutely love my WARN 9500xp. I have used it to pull out a badly stuck broken 8000lb truck up a muddy hill with a long hard pull and it soaked it up without a complaint. I have a coupld of friends that use RAMSEY's and they like them just fine.

Go with a warn winch . I see used one on CL all the time for good prices . I just seen a 8000i on there today for $300 . If I had the cash I would buy that for my jeep as my burb is way to big for a 8000lb winch . Beside's you are in Oregon and if you had a problem you can drive over to Warn in Clackamas/Milwaukie and get your part form them . They are the Best winch IMO . My nieghbor is sponserd by superwinch and could get me one near cost but I would rather have a warn . I would like to have a 12000lb warn up fron and a receiver mount 9 or 9.5 for the rear . try winchdepot.com for a new warn or CL (creigslist) or maybe ebay , good luck :D

does warn in clackamas sell out of the whse? i.e. factory store?
No they don't :( . you need to go through any vendor or 4x4 shop or on line places that sell warn winches . Stay away from 4wheelparts . I have seen some good deals from winchdepot.com . I have a problem with paying $150-250 more for the same winch at a 4x4 shop when I could get mine on line . I know that I'm a cheap bastid but I have to maximize more of my $$ as I have 2 4x4 rigs that have need's :wink1: .
