winch opinions???

There were quite a few posts on Pirate about people who had T-Maxx and the winch gave them no problems. It also edged out the comparable Warn model in power and line speed, iirc. I will keep my eyes open, and if they still seem to have such a good track record when I scrape the cash together to buy one, I will probably go T-Maxx.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with these winches?Besides "they're " made in China or "I have such and such"?I have an American winch also(Ramsey)but I'm thinking about putting a MM12000 in the rear and would like to hear from some more guys that have them.I have checked out a few reviews on them and the consensus seems to be that they perform fairly well, given a little care taken not to overheat them.If any of you guys are running them,or have run them, please speak up.

I have seen several 8274s smoke their solenoids. It must be an inherent problem with them. Other wise its a fast winch...

Just guessing, but maybe due to their extreme current draw.

I haven't had any solenoid issues w/ mine (now that I said that I will though).

Me neither. I've stalled it several times. I wonder if those solenoids were original Warns, or cheap replacements. They need to be rated for winches, not just a starter solenoid, which is meant to be used intermittently.

I've got a few friends with the Tmax 10000 and they had no problems. I had just bought one and i have used it a lot and i've had no problems. I like the TMAx
