Winch Plate Idea?????

I just scored a M12000 and had and Idea of where to start with the winch plate. Has anyone used a piece of I beam to make the winch plate out of?? Specifically the front end of a a Mobile home tongue, seemed like a heavy piece of steel just laying there. Probably way too heavy or over kill for what I need but It's an idea. What do you think?

are you talking a removeable mount or permanent? dont know if this will work for you.. but I put a 12" wide x 35" long piece of C channel between my frame rails in the back of my truck and mounted a patriot 15k there
oh yeah 3/8 thick.... HEAVY.. a 1/8" thick mount would have ran $80 but I made this from a local steel yard for $40
