IIRC to figure what winch to use you take the GVWR and add 10%. That being said, my K5 has a GVRW of 6000 lbs. So a 10500 lb winch is fine with a little extra. Right?

10% of 6,000 is 600. that formula doan work. Try vehicle weight + 50%. So 50% of 6,000 is 3,000. 6,000 + 3,000 = 9,000. Most people consider a 9k winch minimum for a fullsize. On a heep you can go smaller.
