Hi guys,

My window crank handle shaft threads on my 72 K5 blazer are shot, so I need to replace the whole window track assembly on the inside to fix this??. How do I get the window glass out?

I've taken off the small rubber end cap at the back of the door, but it looks like I have to remove the window channel felt strips as well??

I do know that for 1971-back window crank assemblys are easier to replace than the 72 models are.........but I've never had to tear apart a door assembly yet to do this. Any help appreciated. matt

The 71 and 72 are virtually identical. I think the only difference is the screw right under the vent window is on the 71.

If you just need to replace the crank threads on the shaft, that assembly comes off separately. Pretty easy fix.

To get the window out, you have to take the wing window out by removing the three screws right near the A pillar area. Then there's some bolts underneath the interior trim panel as well as near the door latch area.

I've done some checking........according to LMC...and classic parts of america.........1972 model window regulators.....and window cranks are different....than 67-71.

They sell a window crank repair kit for 67-71....which you can take off....since its held on by 3 rivets.

But I guess nobody makes a 72 model window crank repair kit.......guess I have to replace the whole window regulator...............
