I was having the same problem with rear window not wanting to go all the way up because of the metal lip on the glass hitting the motor, but I did not know what was going on till I found the messages posted here. I did the same fix with a grinder and it works great now. My tailgate definitely had seen some abuse, which had mashed the motor closer to the glass, contributing to the problem.
Now I can put my window up without saying the "F" word!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
