Hey Guy's Mike here. Having problems with my wipers. Looking for component breakdown for RPO CD4 or why delay & mist won't work properly. Motor, module, switch, pump/ck valve & lever are brand new. Everything was bad. Working on 1990 suburban w/o CD4 or K34 RPO codes. Replaced column w/ what was in it, tilt, delay & cruise from Columns Galore (NY). Delay does not work at all, mist works if you hold it on(does not automatically park itself). Washer, slow & fast works, a little slow but works. Thks in advance

@Monster Burb hey welcome aboard

I bumped you over to the garage forum where there’s some traffic. The brotherhood here should get you sorted soon

Grounds.
Ground wires good?
They all depend on the chassis.
And they all have issues at this age.

Not yet, thinking that's the cause of the slowness. The old column worked the same all except the slowness. Thought the lever was bad, then it was after I smoked it in the delay mode didnt know it was on until the smoke. Column itself was toast. Are there any differences between the systems?

non CD4 & veh's having it

I had my '90 Jimmy do the same thing as far as not parking and the delay didn't work. It stayed running instead of pulsing. And I had to bump it towards mist to park them properly. I tried a different switch and pulse module, but had to install a different motor to fix it. Maybe your new motor is bad? I had that happen with an '87 years ago, brand new from Autozone didn't work correctly.
Of course, this is if the ground strap on the motor is good. It is brass and goes to one of the mounting bolts. It's probably painted over.

What happens in delay mode?

The new motor could simply have a bad park switch. Or that plug might have been forgotten? Iirc, it's the pigtail that has a black wire with blue tracer. And only two wires.

That's a possibility but my bet is on bad ground

It was not having new pump installed or having a good one connected to the system. Last weekend I installed pump after getting new ck valve from Rock Auto never ck'd to see if it worked or got back around to ck wiring, was doing other things on the Burb (Back window). It rained Wed. & used the wipers & low & be hold the delay fire up. Sweet No extra wire harness needed. Not a GRD Thks guys
