Ok so I am still working on my ezwiring 21 kit.. getting farther though...

anyway... I got most of the under hood wires done.. headlight harness is done and tail light harness is done (less 1 wire)
but I want to try and get this thing fired up by next weekend.. so I need to get the engine harness done and inside cab harness done..then I can care about tail lights and front clip wires...

but anyway..
the last wires for me to run are
1. distributor power wire
2. power wires from starter

now I know that one of the starter wires is a heavy gauge wire (biggest in the kit) and labeled (52) solenoid power. So this is the big power line that will feed power to the fuse block.. I get that...
However there is a small wire.. I know it is the ignition switch wire... their own book says so...

IGN Sw Start = Purple to starter. I went with the all black kit and I just dont see a wire at all that says IGN SW Start. What wire would it be that I need to run?

im figuring it is the ignition switch which is on the column and I just dont see the wire.

can anyone assist?
I have been building this harness in my kitchen so far.. but by this weekend I want to get it into the truck... and start looking at getting it prepped for running....

so big wire gets power from starter to fuse block... THAT IS GOOD!!! lets get some juice going.. but I will have no cranking....

also I have a stick and remember that I had 2 wires (when I had an auto) and when we went stick..we jumpered them (neutral safety switch).... I have no clue where that wire even is on the new harness... anyone that did a ez kit remember?

Thanks
Jeff

wow... seems that the obvious can be missed... I re read their book and it never said where the wire was... although I read the front cover..

something about this line didnt seem right..
2 pre wired gm column ignition switch plugs

so i looked at them and the ign switch wire is there... grrrrrrrrrr

i think it is time to sit back and drink a few beers.... :doah:

The purple wire goes from the ignition switch to the (S) terminal on the starter (one closest to the block). This is the crank signal wire which engages the solenoid.

well unfortunately I bought the all black kit.. so purple doesnt exist for me :haha:

I was able to hookup the S wire.... I will be able to hookup the other wire to the starter...

my question is on the alternator... why are they having it wired in differently?

I believe stock the back of the alternator (single plug) goes from there straight to the battery...... but instead they have #2 pin of the dual alternator plug jump to the plug on the back of the alt... then it goes to a wire that feeds back to the fuse block.... just weird....
