ok , I pulled my instrument cluster and am trying to figure out where everything goes so all the lights in the cluster work. here is what i need help with.....

I have 4 sockets that use 194 bulbs and 4 indicater lights under the speedometer and gas gauges (2 each)

1 plug has two wires---1 pink and 1 gray

1 plug has two wires---1 white and 1 brown

1 plug has 3 wires---2 black and 1 orange

and the last plug has 3 wires 2 pink with a black stripe and 1 yellow

now the lights under the gauges were not plugged up and had no bulbs in them so I dont know whether or not they work at all , but I would like to get them fixed.

at the bottom of the speedometer gauge ----4 wheel drive on the left and low coolant on the right.

at the bottom of the gas gauge---brake on the left and seat belt on the right.

I need to know what plugs/ wires go to which indicator under the gauges

and one other wire that comes from a switch on the transmission/drivers side and runs up through the firewall to the brake pedal switch....this wire is green and looks to have been replaced. on the brake switch there is one plug with a orange and black wire and two male terminals one of which the green wire is running to.....what does this wire from the transmission do and should there be another wire from the brake switch to somewhere else??

and keep in mind that this used to be a diesel and i do not know if the wiring harness was swapped out but the instrument cluster no longer has the glow plug indicator on it.

it is an 83 K5 , 305/700r4/208

sorry for so many questions and thanks in advance,

John

ok I found the low coolant light(bulb socket with the pink and gray wires)

I am guessing the 4 wheel drive indicator is the socket with the white and brown wires....I think I need a new switch and plug for the t-case

one of the three wire bulb sockets turns on for about 2-3 seconds when I switch the key on , so I am guessing that is the glow plug light from its previous life as a diesel

so that would put the other plug as the seat belt I assume

You have a low coolant light? Where is the sensor for that?

on the radiator , about six inches below the filler neck/cap. It was originally a diesel and I assume that the diesel radiator was used after the switch???? but the wire coming from the sensor/switch in the rad. activates the low coolant dash light under the speedo gauge. if i unhook the wire the light stays on or if the water level gets below the switch it comes on. I dont know if it is original or not but the indicator below the speedo is the factory style

you ever figure out where that white and brown wire went?
