So due to some family circumstances @ashman asked if I could tow his blazer down to the bash for him.

So after a 3 day ordeal with a thermostat, my burb now sports a trailer brake controller, and a radio, and a shiny 180° thermostat. Trailer has brakes for the first time since I owned it. All the tail lights are working, bearings repacked and a load distribution hitch on

Leaving Keith's house in the morning. Btw in our convoy of me Keith and Jack I'm the only non Blazer towing a Blazer.

So wish me luck cause my foots going to the floor my eyes are gonna ignore the temp gauge and we going to Moab lol

Got some spare tires for the trailer?

I also always carry a spare loaded hub with me too just in case.

Saweet!

Be sure to wait up for Keith and Jack at the top of the hills. No way they're gonna keep up with your screaming diesel towrig. :rotfl:

Yep I have a spare. Don't have a spare hub though. All the bearings we're inspected and packed last week. Needed to replace 2 of em. The rest looked and felt good

I keep tellin em that, they just keep on laughing!

Woo hoo made it. Towing with a 6.2 is a game of momentum. Unfortunately no one else knows that. Burb never overheated never accelerated up a hill, really never let me down.

Whole lot of 45 to 55 speeds some lower but I think I pretty much mantained 30ish no matter what.

Jack took a picture of himself napping on the way down

Actually the canyon was nothing.. he finally got hot but we were at the top of soldiers summit. the long slow grades after price were the worst..he couldn't get any momentum.

I've decided a NA 6.2 is just not a decent tow rig. At least not for me. Yes it made it but there are too many hills to go places I want to go. I certainly don't need to go fast up hills but I'd like enough to at least get some speed in a uphill section.

On the trip back it was better though. Less climbing but over all steeper.

Google maps says my trip should be 6 hours 55 minutes. I took about an hour unloading Ashmans blazer. So my overall drive time was about 9 hours 30 minutes

But it made it home and really I don't think we ever needed to stop to let it cool. Just me freaking out a bit. On the way back I only stopped for fuel to check straps and to unload.

Oh and around 12 mpg was the overall mileage on this trip
