WL: 1988 V10 Suburban

Pretty awesome.

I prob have dropped the shroud a lil but that's just me

Thank you.

As for the shroud, it barely rubbed and nothing was hurt by the "self clearancing". I guess I am just lazy.

nice looking rig man, i like that stance with the narrow wheels and low lift. though i have no idea how you guys deal with rust, i wouldnt even bother building 4x4s if i lived somewhere that had rust.

I guess the rust doesn't really bother me. It has no ill effect on off roading capabilities, and I don't feel bad smashing up ****ty sheet metal. I have no desire to own something that has a clean body on it.

Balanced the tires last night. Wow those Hummer tires are junk. I had never seen a tire machine ask for a 9oz weight before.

Ncie build man makes me miss my old burb. what are you going to do about the rot on the body?

Power wash it, and spray a fresh coat of Krylon over it. Maybe. Depends on how ambitious I get. I really don't care what the body looks like. To tell the truth, I preferred how it looked with the stock 16.5 wheels, but those tires I had were shot. I stumbled across a good deal on a set of 17" tires, so I needed some wheels for them. That is when I went looking for the H2 wheels. Then just by chance I found these with brand new tires on them for $500. I think I will just run these BFG's for awhile. I'll still be looking for another set of H2 wheels though.

I've been driving this a lot. Pulled a few vehicles around on a trailer. It runs good for having an OEM computer and chip with no tuning at all. it could run better, but that is for another day. That being said, I blew out the front spiders in my Dana 44 the other day. I can't decide if I want to drop the money and put a Dana 60 in it, or spend (waste???) money on the external hub Dana 44?

Picked up a 4.10 SRW for $650, and a 4.10 DRW for $550. They're a little crusty, but complete.

Due to Chris's prodding (78SWB^) I went out an put the SRW Dana 60 under my Suburban this evening.

Backed the Suburban in the quonset, jacked it up, and started the disassembly.
