WL: Crusty 1985 K20.

Are you going to put the bed back on? Shortened?

I never have cared for these plastic fuel tank skids.

Really did the number on that fuel tank.

Haha, everyone knows you hate flatbeds...

Can't wait for your disapproval of the black wheels that I got with my 38's...

Yeah I thought the little plastic ones on the front of the tank were dumb I haven't ever had one with a full length one. All they do is hold mud and rot out the tank.

I got a weird batch of luck. On my truck the passenger side rotted out under the skid, like normal (though my skid only covers the front foot or so of the tank :dunno:), but on the driver side the tank was bright and shiny underneath, like the skid had been protecting it for all these years. Not sure why the difference. FWIW, I didn't bother removing the driver side skid, but the new passenger tank was installed without skid.

So my 1985 K20 has 56" rear springs. I assume because it is a C6P truck.

Here I am pointing at the holes for the hanger if it has 52" springs.

Which set do you use if you do a shackle flip? I know the ORD flips say to revers them side for side, but is that still using the 52" mounting holes?

Use which ever holes fit best. On my 56 swap from 52s, i used the same mounting holes, but switched the new brackets side to side, right on the left and left on the right. It moved the shackle enough to keep me happy without drilling the holes for the 56's as my truck wasn't drilled factory.

I don't know if I am going to lift it any more, but if I went with the farther forward mounting point, I could cut more frame off.

Here is a pic of mine with the DIY4X kit, just as I said above,56's in place of 52's stock location on frame but brackets switched right to left and left to right.

At full compression (flat springs) the shackle doesn't break 45°

You just don't know that you want 4-5 inches of lift. At least get the negative arch out of the front...

I do believe I just bolted the ORD flip in same holes the factory hanger was in on my k20 w/56" springs fwiw.
