WL: Crusty 1985 K20.

I was helping with planting all day. When I got home this evening, I found my kids had went to the shed, and brought out a creeper, a creeper seat, a jug of waste oil, and a five gallon bucket with lag screws and other such hardware along with a 1-7/8” wrench, a 2” wrench, and a 5/16” wrench. Pretty good gap in coverage!

After we put that stuff away, we loaded up, and went over to the old man’s shop.

Cleaned out the cab a little bit, and my seven year old and I replaced the air filter. Baby steps.

We also climbed the cut on the way. The three youngest thought it was great! My oldest is scared of heights and tomfoolery. He did not approve. Oddly though he took it pretty well. Then we were driving out of the cut, and the kids were misbehaving, and I dropped the classic, “I will turn this truck around!”. My oldest instantly started crying and told his siblings to knock it off, or I was going to take them back down the cut. He took me pretty literally there!

They had a lot of fun otherwise. The middle two begged me to go through the cut again on the way home. Partially because said they thought it was fun, partially to be mean to their older brother!

When we got home, they all demanded I park it on something. Who am I to say no?!?

Went in to town to get some stuff from the lumber yard. My four year old wanted to come along, and wanted us to take my “rusty ol’ pickup”. Saw a couple culverts calling my name.

Then we drove along the train tracks, to go over by the city building, to unload all the old beer cans out of the box. Saw this concrete barrier, and it was also calling my name.

My buddy was loving it.

This thing has needed rear springs for over a decade. I probably have used C6P (56”) springs, but where is a good place to buy replacement factory springs?

I also need a set of axle perches to put a one ton 14bff under this truck, to switch gears. Good vendor for that? I have been out of the game too long!

If I were spending money today, ORD and Hogback fab continue to support CK5, iirc.

Barnes4wd if looking elsewhere, ruffstuff currently blows dead goats.
