So in my usual fashion its too late to really start on anything now. But I sit here wondering. So it behooves me to post my question with no investigation on my part.

Problem, won't turn left, simple as that.

I get about 3.75 turns lock to lock ( just counted them at about 1 am in the dark so thats an about number) but it won't turn left, no hard spots in the steering no odd noised, steering feels the same all the way through the turns.

BTW its a 60 with high steer and hydro assist.

Like I said no investigation on my part, my tomorrow plan involves actually pulling it in the garage and checking stuff out.

The main reason I post is because I have looked at it while turning and nothing is loose, nothing is catching, nothing is leaking. So it has to be either something stupid simple my single inept brain cell is missing or something a little weird :D

x2 on the steering box. I had one a few months back that I ported for hydro assist and screwed something up on the inside. when I put it back on it steered just fine to the right but would not turn left.

Reminds me of skiing with my brother from Texas, he can only turn right :haha: He will go straight down the mountain occasionally turning right to somewhat maintain a safe speed.:woot:

Nothing wrong with that box.
Its just conservative......

The only way it wouldn't turn in one direction is if the draglink is not adjusted correctly or the steering box AND wheels weren't centered when you installed the draglink.

The drag link and pitman arm and all associated steering parts have not been removed for about 2 years. None of the jam nuts were loose.

Still haven't had the chance to pull it apart we shall see this week

Suspension:
Leaf springs or coils?
If you have leaf springs, check for busted pins, I had the exact same thing hapen to me.

Hmmm haven't checked that, maybe I will just replace the multi arch springs that are currently in there with the new ( used) ones I have

You can usually tell before you take the Ubolts off, just look for signs of the axle goinf back and forth on the spring, on mine it was so obvious because my engine leaked oil and had mud on everything except a couple of inches on either side of the axle was wiped clean.:dunno:

Did this problem just surface or did you add/replace any parts and now you're having this problem?

Just surfaced loaded up to go wheeling one day and got out on the trail and no left turn.

I don't really remember if it was sudden or not I did not have hydro assist with 42s for a while (I have hydro now) so I got used to not being able to turn.

So nothing has been changed recently, and you can't turn left AT ALL? I'm assuming you can't turn left even on flat ground? Does the rig still have push/pull steering or crossover?

He has highsteer+crossover+hydro assist. I think what he meant was before hydro assist its hard to turn 42's while stationary even with crossover, so he didn't notice if it gave out suddenly because he was so used to it. I can't turn my 42's with crossover unless the truck is rolling. I think his truck is mad at him because he didn't take it to Alaska.

I guess maybe I shouldn't reply when i'm tired otherwise I would have noticed that he said it's a D60 with hi-steer and crossover. :doah:

Anyhow, I did read that he CAN'T TURN LEFT, still not sure it he can't turn AT ALL or just while standing still. :dunno:

This is a reasonable possibility

LOL shoot Scott I posted my problem before I had even pulled the thing in the garage.

Can't turn left rolling or stopped slam a rock just right and they will turn some.

I still haven't even jacked it up to see if it will turn with the tires in the air

Stay tuned an actual garage diagnosis will happen tomorrow:D
