I picked up this band saw yesterday, it’s from my grandfather’s shop (cool). No idea on age but it was there when I was little back in the 70’s.

I need to clean it but I can’t find any obvious branding on it anywhere, any ideas?

It’s a wood cutting unit, could it be as easy as changing the blade to use it for metal?

The electric motor runs, surprisingly, but it needs a new cord and sounds like the bearings are rough.

@sweetk30 i took your advice and posted it on Garage Journal. A guy there reposted it on OWWM (?) and it’s been tentatively identified as a Walker-Turner 12” BN-710 band saw - Circa 1934.

A 1930’s machine! How freakin cool is that?! :pimp:

I’m going to check some more, if it is a 30’s piece as time permits I’ll refurbish it instead of converting it to metal.
