Just bought it this evening, drove 8 hours to get it... And am now the proud owner of an '84 K30 sixpack SRW 4X4.

Yes its old man outfitted, yes its a little ugly, but wait, its got a 6.5 diesel with a NV4500 5 speed/205! AND, a banks sidewinder turbo kit installed. I just drove it 300 miles home, no issues whatsoever, purred like a kitten all the way back.

Sweet, what are your plans for it?

Well, I sold my reg cab K20 tow rig to fund my CC one ton dually I have sitting in my shop. So I got this pile of cash and thought, well I 'll just buy a parts truck to use on my project. So THEN, I found the red CC that I cant possibly part out, and now im back to square one with a half finished CC 4wd dually in my shop, and a rockin red CC SRW 4wd in my driveway.

SO, I guess maybe I'll throw a lift/tires on the new one and watch the other one work on itself:)

Im thinking an 8" spring lift with my all time favorite towrig tires, the goodyear OZ M/T 37x12.50x 16.5's. thats where my single cab K20 sat, give or take a few inches.

Ive got an opportunity to pick up a '01 24 valve cummins, it would be sweet to put that in one of these CC's. I hate to get into any real projects until after the move north though.

I think I like building tow rigs better than building the wheeler. Is that wierd?

When you move up here you can be part of our crewcab club lol!!!!

no its not weird at all...........just wait if you get bit by the diesel performance bug it'll never end  you saw mine now. that isn't my 1st one :doah:

nice find BTW. I had an '86 K30 like that but couldn't bring myself to put work into a truck that old. so i upped to the ;97

yeah thats an addiction in its self !!!

Im afraid ive already gotten the diesel bug... my 12v is no slouch:)

I should take some pics of my '86 dually to show ya'll, 70k original miles, hauled a camper so no scratches in the bed, exlnt original paint, perfect interior.... Seems to me to be an ideal cummins swap.

how far are you from seattle??
My sister is at Mchord AFB I could come down to visit and help ya drive up the Alcan

that would be awesome, Im about 2hrs dead south in vancouver.

Im thinking aboot hopping a plane next weekend and getting some face time with prospective employment. We should stay in touch.

wow, that is flat sexy. I'm not quite that far into mine yet, mostly bolt on toys. single 45psi turbo w/o wastgate, 370 Borsch injectors, 100hp shot of propane, 4" straight exhaust, a few more things im forgetting. Nothing like yours though, I'd be forced to choose between being married and having a sick cummins...

yeah for sure, I'll be at work in the bush for the next month so internet is touch and go but I'll for sure keep in touch,

Check out the Alaska4x4network.com good bunch of people.......... and if the current trend hold we might overtake the jeep guys lol
