1/2 ton status
I am in the process of installing my lift and need some help.
1. I am putting on a set of 4" HD Tuff Country Springs in the front with the HD 7" shackles from DIY4X and a zero rate. Is this going to cause my drive shaft to be at a bad angle? Will it require it to be shemmed?
2. Started to do my disc brake install but only got as far as pulling out my axle shaft to get the drum assembly off. Is there a special tool to get the nut off from around the interior axle housing? I can't seem to get the drum loose at all. I have only dealt with one other full float drum set up like this and it had a normal 3 and 1/2 nut around the axle housing.
3.To get the gas tank to drop for the shackle flip I have to take off my hitch. All the bolts are loose but I have one that is spinning from inside the frame and I can't get to it becasue the gas tank is there. Any suggestions?
I have done alot of mechanicle work but this is all new for me. So far I everything off the front axle except for the steering arm. I plan on cutting the ubolts and lifting it up. I am heading back out to see if I can get the front springs swapped out today and get going on the rear tommorow. It's going slow.My air compressor for my air tools is not working and I am doing all the work myself. Hopefully I can get everything done by the end of the week.
