Working on a Nissan murano sucks

Can't get straight on it. Socket slipped off every time. It will come off sat., one way or anudder. Got cutting wheels, grinding burrs, ball files, and a dremel. It WILL come off. I'm pissed now.
Did you try swivel sockets?

I've seen my friend have to take an air chisel to an alternator when the bolt that passes thru the casting gets corroded into the aluminum so bad,the only thing that let it come out was to split the housing around the bolt, then soak it with penetrating oil ,add some heat from a torch, then the impact gun finally could spin it out..

So much for the $50 alternator core..:doah:

@Big Ray any luck on this project. Murano's were built for people with small arms, hands and engine was assembled before the body went on. . I know you pain.

We had our oldest granddaughter this weekend, so I put the car on hold this weekend. She lives in Tejas so we don't see her but once a year.

I have metric tools, just not flex sockets! I will, soon! When the nut comes off you'll be able to hear me holler!

Finally had a free weekend. 30 minutes of extreme force of violence and here it is. I swear they used jb weld for loctite. It had split and spread and it still took everything the air hammer had to get it to spin.

Got the new one in today! Woo hoo!!
My Bride got me a pair of compound joint pliers, they are the shit!! I had to stick a 6" lon bolt up in a space 3" x3". Only access is from underneath. Got it first try! Putting the rest back together tomorrow. Lordy, what a relief...
