I took it in to our local gurus at South Side Trim of DFW and put Brian Walsh who is a great guy up to the task of making truly cool/cold seats! I bought this kit in the link from coolshirts.com and am having the tubing converted to run under the factory (I hope) seat covers. He is also installing the roll bar I got from Bronco Bob and maybe getting a soft top for me too.

Any suggestions let me know please.

Check it out. PG

way more expensive than I'd be willing to pay but a cool as hell idea. My car has air conditioned seats and I'd love to have that available for the blazer.

Take pics of the progress. I'd be interesting to see if someone could come up with a cheaper way to do it.

I am sure you could do it yourself for way less. I am just too busy
to try it myself and plus these guys are good at what they do.
Its a ways off for me to see the work in progress so the only picks
will likely be after finished. PG

I have long wanted to convert the factory low-back seats to a MasterCraft/PRP style suspension seat using their webbing.... then add seat heaters so I could still enjoy the convertible on drives in the late fall / early winter.

My Mercedes had perforated leather seats and 5 small fans to blow cold air from underneath the seat into the bottom and back cushions.... the factory fans were never really up to the task. A few guys swapped in CPU-type fans and ended up getting good results.

Ok met with the installers today they are concerned the cold wont be felt through the thick vinyl seat covers they are going to make a mock up for me to sit on and try before spending a lot of time and money leaving me with cut up seat cushions that are still hot.

I wonder if you could use braided steel tubing and a draft beer jockey box coil and build a set up yourself. Like the kit coil shown below in these links. Anyone know how you could pump the cold water around a few hundred feet of hose? PG

Do the seats need to be cooled, or just ventilated?

Not sure how you'd do it (maybe that flat garden "hose" that has holes in the top?) but I would think moving air across your backside would help a fair bit. This is the hose I was thinking of http://img.hisupplier.com/var/userI...oak_Hose_for_Lawn_irrigation_and_Garden_s.jpg

Obviously not as good as actual cold air, but I would think anything that breaks the body/seat cushion insulation effect would help. Not even sure how you'd push air through it without a compressor of some sort, unless you rigged up a CO2 tank to feed the system, which would definitely provide cold seats lol.
