Working through another problem... this time the temperature sender

Now that I think about it, I'm positive back in the day I had to run a reducer to fit the smaller sender in the older heads that I was running. I'll have to look and see if it's still in my cabinet of parts.

However, I do recall running this style at one point: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/MPE...rature+Sender+Switch&keywordInput=temperature

On my truck now I'm running one similar to this https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/DEMTS10032?partTypeName=Coolant+Temp+Sensor&keywordInput=temperature although I'm not sure that particular one is 3/8 thread. I do know that I should have the part number at home. It combines both the CTS and gauge temp sender.

I'm positive that neither one of those is correct.

No, they arent OEM for our trucks, but they work and can be easily found.

I was not a fan of the nail head design, and it was a pain to find one that fit the vortec heads anyway, so I just went with the later style sender and connector. Which last I checked, were pretty easy to find in the wrecking yard if you didnt want new.

FWIW all I could find about a 3/8 nail head sender was that even years back they were near impossible to find.

10096181 (delco 213-815) is the part number on the boxes of the three wire CTS/temp sender I'm using.

I reached out to the person that bought my engine to try to get a pic of the sender that is there.

He said it runs great but is now out of the country My luck
