I will see if I can find some pics but one year in Moab my frame ripped where the rear spring hanger was. Patched it as best we could and continued on, well lets just say this is where I learned a mig weld can look good but not hold. A buddy had welded my perches on my rear axle on and they both broke off the axle trying to get up a shelf, carnage as follows since I was watching and my wife was driving. Perches broke breaking the rear drive line. She didnt' get off it quick enough and the cheesy frame repair broke. which in turn broke the other side of the frame. So both of my rear springs are no longer attached to the frame in the front, no rear driveline, my pinion was pointed to the sky and my axle had shifed a solid 6 inches to the passenger side.

Long story short 26 hours and 700 bucks later I was driving back home.

The only mud in sight.Where my wheels are its just over knee deep :eek1: The other parts under water are almost knee deep also. You cant tell in the pic but its laying on its door, the wheels on the other side are high enough to put your hand under.
It took 2 full size 4x4`s with a strap on each corner of mine to get me out.

The first one is a bit blury but it is my truck mid roll. I had to scrap it and build a new rig after this one.

Not quite as bad as when it was stolen, but here are some pics of when I blew the gov lock last year. She was parked for four months while I did a 14bff swap.

Yup, that was a 3 beer axle removal....

My worst day ever was this past Monday when I found out that my girlfriend was cheating on me.

Thankfully, I don't have any pictures. :(

That happened to me this Friday, sweet. I wanted to pretend she was my rig and create some body damage. :weld: :hack:

Luckily I still have enough money for beer to last me through the week.

The second demise of my 400. The first was on the interstate but had it rebuilt. This ride was fun. I didn't make it across this stretch the first time so backed up and hit it harder and she died. I knew instantly it sucked water into the engine. Finished the ride and even went on another ride before I swapped engines. In the down time I boxed the frame and added a snorkle and a couple other lil upgrades.

Now the kicker is when I swapped engines (carbed 350 outta an 85 vet) It lasted one weekend at Grayrock. It was the second day. I was hotrodding it in this lil tiny hole. The only hint of mud for miles around. As the engine wines down I here Dan Dibble (06 TTC 3rd place winner) say " Damn that is a health engine". Just at that moment I hear a tap tap tap start. I knew it was bottom end. Spun 3 or 4 main bearing inside the caps and block- so the block was ruined.

This same day was also one of the most memorable cuz I rode with Dibble for a short time. Treat yourself to this video. Hot some of the others too. Most Kewl.
I'm sitting behind him.

I liked the video until the first buggy dug out the hill for everyone else. He could have just hit it again and been fine. I guess videos like that are why we're losing more trails.

That video is from a pay to ride ORV park. He rented it out for a private ride. This is one of the things you do when you have the horsepower and money to do it. Don't go all green on us here. The next weekend the owner prolly had the back hoe up there ripping the crap outta the same area. It's his land after all. Don't do dirt burnouts while a camera is rolling cuz it's amuntion for the greenies doesn't fly.

As far as digging the trail out for the next guys- I assure- they didn't mind a bit. In fact IIRC only one other similar buggie made it up that far. If you are following Dibble your rig had better be able to overcome some tire ruts.

whats to say these same people are not doing this on other land? I have seen plenty of his or others posted videos.

and yes it is great amo, greenies load this video on to a powerpoint presentation and show it to others to get support for their cause..few and far in between will assume it is on private land. I know it is differant if it is on private land but that does not change the leverage a video has.

This was my maiden voyage, has been like this for almost 3 years with no front shaft. finally sold my dd dodge diesel to afford to do the doubler and new trans, and tom woods shafts. lasted about 8 minutes. front driveline was a little too long for big air into a birm. the real sad part was that my brother's "bumble bee" towed me the 40 miles home. i rag him about the stupid paint job and show truck looking crap. i also bent the rf spring, broke the upper king pin bushing, bent the shackle bolts and spring bushing pins. i hit hard enough that the tires turned all the way right and the rf tire was against the frame

ok well this whole week was S#$t for me. Beside building 4x4 stuff i am the lead fabricator for an arcitechual lighting fixture shop. This light is 800 pounds (not a typo). It is made from laser cut 1/4" plate that was then forged to create scale. The guy who forged the material overheated it and everything changed shape. I spent all week tweaking heating and smashing these things to be perfectly square etc. The upper portion of the light is about 9 feet in diameter. The lower is around 6 feet. there are frosted glass cones in sticking out of the steel. I have to make 8 of these. Oh and I was busting a$$ to get this done so the designer could aprove them and he didn't even show up..F-him!!!!

i have made two of the large sections you can see the other on the ground from the "inside" shot. This is fro some dudes house and these lights are about $10,000 bucks each!
