Point taken, mine doesn't have much rust, it's just inconveniently placed as I have no ability to weld and it's in an area that has contours to it, and has to support the weight of the seat brackets so, we can't just rivet a couple old aluminum signs to fit and caulk them up good and go like we just did to my buddy's '79 today. It had a bunch of floorboard rust in the backseat footwell area, small holes (still structurally sound) so, we cleaned it to bare metal, primed and painted it, then trimmed scrap aluminum signs to fit, caulked the bottoms real good, and riveted them into place. Then, we are going to caulk around the edges underneath and above, then undercoat nice and thick. Then, we are putting new sound deadening and rubber flooring. Mine though, I am going to have to find a body shop that can weld in new panels at those mounting points. At least, I was able to salvage my seat brackets, I ground all the rust off of them, primed them and put 2 coats of black Rustoleum, they look good now, if only my floorboards were as simple! Well, there's also the matter of mine having a blown head gasket (coolant pouring out the tailpipes)! Had it for 2 weeks before that happened, I haven't even gotten to take it wheelin' yet, it has been a yard decoration for 2 months or so now! Oh, gotta add just how ripped off I got, my dumbself, I bought this train wreck for $4400!

It's got an SM465, I really wanted a 4spd truck, plus the color was just what I wanted, has the lift I wanted (3" ORD with rear shackle flip), had a nice sounding exhaust (which, upon further inspection, I am going to have to rip out when I put in the 14BFF), and looked so pretty (the interior wwas still in it then, and the seats look quite nice, original blue vinyl (except for the not quite matching driver's seat butt cushion (it was reupholstered)) and drove so nice, I had to have it, oh well, at least I didn't pay the $5000 homedude was asking for it. I guess I pretty well proved the old adage "a sucker's born every minute!"

Now, I am stuck with a truck that has two problems that I can't fix, the floorboards 'cause I can't weld, and the blown head gaskets 'cause I don't know how to do that level of engine work. Any NC guys got a recommendtaion of a shop to get it towed to? Thanks!
