I love my 4x4 and don't really wanna get rid of it. It's my toy. I only drive it on the weekends, or any chance I get that I'm not working...
I'd love to have a lifted one and a lowered one.
Would I regret getting rid of my lifted K5 for a lowered one?
I live in a place where there's not really anywhere to wheel so I don't really use the 4wd on it. But it is fun nonetheless.
I kinda have a feeling I would regret it. But I always regret getting rid of anything I have...

Thanks

Yes, you will.

Not only am I biased (never owned a vehicle that wasn't a 4x4) but I like the utility of simply having 4x4. You might not be specifically wheeling but there's damned few places you can't go with that truck right now. Out to someone's back 40 to do some shooting? No problem. Through the nasty **** at the back of the dump to unload a trailer? No problem.

Not to mention our Blazers are getting kinda rare anymore. I enjoy the attention it receives and the questions I get. It's sorta the counter culture old vehicle now as it's different enough that people ask about it even if they don't like trucks.

Thanks. I figured I would regret it. I'll probably just hold off and see if I can buy one a couple years down the road and try to keep this one...

Don't do it... I've got a Dakota R/T that i can only drive part of the year due to snow. I'd stick with your K5

Thats the ticket. I was This {} close to getting rid of my old rusty blazer. now its even better as a toy only.

I had a Jeep that I had all decked out once upon a blue moon. Sold it for a sports car.

Kicked myself for the last 5 years.

Yeah dont do that. Especially not for a 2ws K5. If you want a cheap street rod do what I'm gonna do this summer, find a $500 80's 2ws s10 and toss a SBC OR BBC in it.

I did the street rod thing when I was a teen, into my early 20's. I'm WAY WAY over street rods. I would love to have one of course, but I will never ever build one again. I would take your super clean K5 over a street rod any day of the week. Keep it. If you want to build a rod, do it, but keep you baby bro.

Thanks for the slap to the back of the head guys.
I'm awake now. I will keep it. I do think I'll regret it too much.

I think you should pull the soft top off and send it to me, i'll take good care of it and you can just go topless when the weather's good. :deal: :D

Thats AWESOME great to hear, seriously. I do not ever plan on selling any of my trucks. I just love them too much. There part of the family as far as I'm concerned.

Well, being in Texas...
We don't get too much bad weather. I just need it to protect me from the sunburns in the summer... LOL

But it's definitely been the best investment I've made for it so far (soft top)...
I'm trying to keep myself from going with the one ton swap... I wanna do it, but don't want to spend the money on the axles... then more lift... then bigger tires... then a bigger garage to fit it in... on and on and on....
I kinda like my Blazer the way it is. And like I said, there's really not too many places to wheel down here...

Take it from a guy who got rid of his K5 after owning it for 17 years- if you sell it, you'll regret it for a long time to come.

Sure, the ol' 84 K5 was rattly, rusty and nickle and diming me to death, but it was a member of the family if a truck ever was. I drove it to my wedding, and it brought both my kids home from the hopsital after they were born. It was part of every summer vacation we took for our first 10 years as a family. In fact, my eldest STILL hasn't completely forgiven me for selling it.

There's $100K worth of mighty fine vehicles sitting in my driveway nowadays, but at least once every couple of weeks I wish I could hop in the Blazer and go for a spin. It's got to the point that I'm on the verge of doing some SERIOUS searching for a cherry, unmolested 91 K5, money be damned.

Don't do it, especially if it's paid for. Take it from me.....:deal:

Don't sell the 4wd, it would suck when you have to slow for speed bumps all the time in your new street rod.

Buy a beater if you want a wheelin rig. Don't ruin such a fine K5. These old rigs are getting more and more rare in that clean of condition.

I'm going through the same battle right now. Either swapping for an ATV or street rod, but its hard to make the decision. I've had it for 10 years and it was my first truck but I rarely drive it and kind of want to move on.

No you won't regret selling that at all, just so long as you sell it to me:D
