Would you buy a Cummins cheap if it had some problems?

I'd buy it, 256,000 on a Cummins clock is nothing! I'm driving one in a Ottawa shag truck (Yes same engine!) that has 891,000+ on the clock, and the only thing that had been done to it is a set of injectors & a pump. I guarantee it has seen more abuse than you can do to one. I probably pull 20 to thirty trailers a day, weighing in excess of 56,000lbs. This thing uses hardly any oil. So ya better buy it!

Like I said before, 256k miles on the Cummins is not the problem........rebuilding the rest of the truck around the Cummins will cost money /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

I would be worried about the condition of the rest of the truck instead of too many miles on the Cummins B series engine. Especially one with a P7100 pump on it !

Hell yeah, buy it if you can get a good deal. We just had an ISB come in w/ bout 750k on it. It was in a Fl70 but still.
