Would you do it?

Got some pictures of my shortbed. As you can see its kinda rough, but this project will be a mud truck so it doesnt need to be very pretty. And the only thing that will be used from this truck is the cab, and clutch stuff. So he would get hte body, no drivetrain (He'd get the axles)

Looks like a jimmy to me, jimmy grill, hood and the rest of the body seems to match. It is missing the trim pieces on the front of the fenders which make it look weird. In the pic also looks like the rockers might be missing or something, just darker in color. I would check condition of the rocker boxes which might explain the look like its raised in the middle at the doors and sagging on the front and rear end.

69 was first year of blazer and 70 was first year of jimmy. Grill looks like 70 to me. I have been told that GMC front fenders have the lip for the trim and chevy doesn't mine has chevy front fenders, doors, hood, tailgate and other various parts.

Looks like its been sitting without a sunroof for a while so check the rust really good.

I am also partial to first gens so if you are ready for some metal fab then go for it.

Check to see if it has power steering and power brakes, not just mechanical brakes. probably has power drums.

He sent me some pics of it...I think ima pass...Just build my longbed, although i am now REALLY wanting a burb on 40s:doah: I need to make up my mind...:haha:

Yeah...i decided to pass...the tub was what i was mostly looking at...i have a first gen frame...I just couldn't find a decent tub, and when i made a "trazer" i didnt quite like the size of it. I wanted something bigger.

Sounds like you made upi your mind. All I could add was do not let those cool pedal covers go. They are nice.:D

Personal prefrence I suppose, Love those 1st gens. whereever you go you'll have a hard time finding a rust-free tub. Looks like you have a lot of work in both projects.....up to you.:D

They actually add grip to your feet as well...Just from when we backed it off the trailer and I had to push in the clutch I could FEEL the grip these things have! I now know why ricers buy these things!:haha::haha:
