Just mounted these the other night and took them out for a short test run. I intentionally was picking lines where the MTRs I replaced wouldn't have hooked up, and I really didn't spin a tire at all except for when I was in 2wd. I'm really looking forward to these in the snow this winter.

ive been wondering about these tires.. one things for sure, very cool looking tread pattern. i bet they would do great where i live.

my friend switched from irocs to pitbulls and he though the pitbulls had better grip too. he didn't like how wide the 44" pitbulls were though so he just bought a set of sticky 43" SXs.

I really like the traction the width gives me, but it definitely takes a rig set up for it. They're truly 16.5" wide and I had to remove a lot more fender and turn my steering stops in. I'm really excited for the flotation in the snow.

They are absolutely retarded in the mud though, FYI. My buddies in Alaska hate them. There isn't any mud in the whole state of NV though, lol.

It's really interesting, and I think it has a lot to do with the width, but they hook up really well in soft, dry dirt without digging a lot. I think they'd do real well in sand, which is probably why everyone around here loves them in the snow.

I've got a buddy that has the 42s... On a crazy muddy hill climb at Naches, his hooked up where the Iroks, TSLs and others didn't have a chance...

Haven't seen them in action enough to really make a solid opinion... I'd like to run a set and see how they feel...

I also have em... love em so far, i have only been in the mud 1time tho and they did pretty good.

I was also running ltbs and gumbos. Mtrs were just the most recent tires I've been running on that rig because they do so well in the snow around here.

That is a pretty funny comparison of the two though. :)

I have never had much of a problem in the mud with mine either, I actually think the 39s are a bit too wide, I have run the 42s and the 44s I prefer the 42s over the 44s

This was at a mud bog(coming out it was way deeper in the middle) but our mud has alot of clay in it and they seem to do just fine in it. At this mud bog there were 9 guys in my class and only 3 of us made it through, sure as heck wasn't the driver!

A 32" BFG MT drove around these 40s in the mud back home...Maybe it's the different composition of the soil :dunno:

AGs or Boggers with a lot of horsepower are pretty much the standard up there though. I feel like it would be asking a lot of a rock tire to do well in those conditions. High void ratios and rocks don't go well together, and low void ratios and mud require a lot of tire spin...just can't have the best of both worlds.

I think it is the soil composition, the pit bull does good certain places but have heard other guys from Alaska say they hated em.

No tire is going to as good as a bogger thats for sure.

Great all around tire though, like I said in deep snow traction is great, it blew my mind first time I had them in snow.

How'd you like the LTB's? I was thinking of some 40's to replace my 39.5" TSL's.

mtblazer89 has them as he has good stuff to say about them. i think thats what im goin to try next too. same size.

i had 42" tsl's before, so ltb's have alot to live up to. i really liked my 42's. i plan on lowering the k5 1-1/2" , so 39"-40" is what im lookin into.

edit- ltb's are dirt cheap also

Rockers are a great rock tire and do ok in the mud for what they are. My old style MT/R's seem to work better on the concrete then the Rockers do at Rausch Creek. The MT/R's also work better then a Irok in the snow. I just wish they would make a true 40" rocker about 14.5" wide. Rockers are a very tuff tire too and don't get sidewall cuts like most other tires. The key to the Rockers is the get them broken in. I have thought about getting a set of 42's to try out but think I am going to get a set of BFG's new 40" Krawlers. We are planning to get a set of 42" Krawlers for the Bronco. I just wish we could sell them like the Goodyear comp compound tires.

I thought they were great all-around tires. They did pretty well in the rocks, cleaned pretty well in the mud...They dug a lot in the snow, but they got a lot of traction. I actually felt they did really well on snowy (not icy) roads around here because they didn't pack up the treads.

Only thing I could say negative about them was that the sidewalls didn't hold up as well as I think a bias should. My MTR radials never had problems, but I had to patch the LTBs a couple different times.

They were VERY square, but what do you expect for a cheap tire? I would have gone with another set, but I got a good deal on the Rockers and I really wanted some more flotation for deep snow.
