OK HERE IS JUST A LIL SOMETHING ID LIKE TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT, THIS MORNING I GOT A NEW 75 CHEVY TRUCK, WELL TODAY I WAS TAKING TIRES AND WHEELS OFF, WELL I TRIED, THEY ARE RUSTED TO THE DRUMS IN REAR, AND ROTARS INF RONT, NOW SOMEONE MUST HAVE ABUSED THIS TRUCK, NOT THAT ANYONE WOULD DO THAT TO A CHEVY, I TIRED EVERYTHING I KNOW OF, HOW CAN I GET THEM OFF /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Sledge hammer on the tire itself...repeat as necessary.

I helped a friend that had this happen one time (it was on a Heep Cherokee). Used a lot of penetrating oil and a respectable finish hammer (sledge). Be careful for self when striking tires, equipment when striking wheels.

I had some challenge with a K30 I bought (for the axle ) The center hole turned out to be VERY tight with the wheels (only recall the issue with the rear, though).

Good luck... never heard of the 73-75 factory rust extending to the mechanical!

What they said, air up the tire, strike only rubber, use the Biggest Fawkin Hammer you can get your hands on, wail away. I work at a tire shop, I use a 16lb long handle sledge all the time for rusted hubs. BUT leave one lugnut partially threaded so the tire doesn't come blasting off when it breaks free.
