Mine are shot. I need a pair with no rust, pits, or blemishes. I cant bring myself to pay $75 each for anew ones. And I do think there is a difference between 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton spindels....you may correct me.
 
There is no difference between 1/2 and 3/4 ton spindles as long as they fit your bearing hubs.

The rule of thumb is: try to match the spindle to the hub by sticking with certain years. The years to watch for are '76 and older, which are called the "first design" and then the '77 and newer, which are the "second design".
