Looking to purchase an original 4x4 short wheel base truck frame. I put 68-72 because I think the 67s dont have the "dimple" for the power steering gear box.

Long story short I bought a really nice 72 orginal swb k10 that had a tired motor, so pulled that and found out that my frame looked bent. Took it to a collision body repair shop and they said its not worth the money/time to fix it. Its bent 1" in the "diamond" section and the right frame horn sits lower then the left.

You will want a '69-'72. For the reason that you stated and the front spring hangers for the front axle.

Talked to a guy today that said he picked up a frame with half tons and running gear today, ill see what his plans are and let u know. It would be in cortez colorado

Yea please do let me know. As long as its a short bed 69-72 frame i will be all over it. I dont mind a road trip so that's not a deal breaker, unless it's in new york or something crazy far like that.

Will let u know. It was supposed to be a shortbed for sure but as we all know things arent always what people think they are

Well, if you find something between me and Moab, I can throw it on the U-haul trailer under my blazer maybe and bring it up. You are kind of looking for a needle in a needle stack though. Most are long beds and most short beds are saved and sold for top dollar :( Also, cutting down a longbed is easy. Just saying, you might consider it.

Yea i know what you mean by needle in the hay stack... I actually have a guy that says he has a professionally shortend 72 4x4 long bed frame that he will sell here in utah. Im always am going to be looking for that shortbed frame though, because thats what it truly was originally and thats where the value of this truck is to me. Not price wise, but because its something that you dont see everyday. Anybody could cut down a long bed and make a short bed..

Only difference is, the body and VIN belong to a short bed, so that matters a lot, meaning the bed itself wasn't cut up. The frame isn't a big deal to me anymore, as long as it's done right. If I had shortened my 3/4 ton long bed, and had all the cool 1/2 ton stuff added to it like I have now, I would have had a much stronger/ rigid frame for the abuse I like to shell out. They are thicker

67 frame is easy you set power steering gear pox up there mark the area, then remove bring out BFH and torch heat it and beat/shape it to fit the spot that hits the frame.
Ask me how I know this it.

sounds like it would be better to try and straigten my original frame doing this method then messing with that.. im sure you could tell me ha

yea and honestly nobody would really even know if it was shortend unless I wanted to sell it, which im not. I guess im just being anal.. thanks for the offer with bringing it to moab, I will probably take you up on that if it ever does comes down to it. A guy off of 67-72chevy truck forum just told me about a roller in Idaho falls, so im going to try that and see where it gets me.

From what I can it's got lift springs, power steering and axles still there. And I still got 1 more guy to talk to that says he traded for shortbed frame last week.
