Looking for a set of 76-78 rear Eldorado calipers for my rear disk conversion. I need all the hardware too. PM me if you have a set laying around you want to sell.

Are you just looking for cheap cores to trade in for new ones at a parts stores? There's plenty in the yards around here. I'll see what I can dig up.

Yeah, cores or good rebuilds. I wouldn't mind springing for a new (rebuilt) set from the parts store and just eating the core, but you can't get the hardware. I've checked all the yards here within 150 miles with no luck. If you find a set, you'd definitely be the man.

Oh, you mean the brake lever's right? Those are tough to get new. You pretty much have to find a used one. I'll take a look today.

I would seriously consider not using eldorado calipers in the first place.

IMO using a mechanical line lock or a driveline e-brake is a more reliable and cost-effective option.

Everyone I've known that tried the eldorado e-brake option has been disappointed with the results.

Although I've never rebuilt that exact caliper, I have rebuilt, setup, and adjusted several calipers with a ratcheting piston/parking brake and I've never had any problems doing so. Also, I use my parking brake every time I drive my truck, so with routine maintenance, I don't think I'll have a problem. I do seriously appriciate your opinion though. :thumb:

I just got back from searching and there's plenty of 79-85 rear disc ebrake calipers, but nothing for the 76-78. The older cars are getting harder to find.

I found alot of them on car-part.com spread out across the country. Just have to find a place willing to ship.

Yeah, the first couple places I called either didn't have them or just sold them, but I eventually found a place. They're on the way. Thanks for your help.:waytogo:

For the record i'm running the caddy eldo calipers and i haven't had any issues, i've been running them for a good 5 years now. In fact i'm still on the same set of rear pads from when i did my disk conversion.

Also if you want or need to be legal you must have a mechanical e-brake.
