WTF Superior Axle & Gear? (I fixed it)

I would say this isn't even one to really look at Summit on... it is a warranty, but I think this is more on Superior's end with what they are boxing up, etc, and supplying Summit with...

Very good point...no need to rag on Summit...they did their part.

I have never once had an issue with Summit and I have been using them since 1983...have nothing but good things to say about them.

No i'm saying if you are replacing a part with an upgraded one you should do it evenly if they are in pairs or all you create is a weak link. The new ones does look stronger. at least by visual inspection. Why tear it apart twice? I think this is superiors issue and not summits fault.

It's not really an issue anymore. The good folks at Summit are sending me the correct matching axle shaft.
As far as throwing 1 tons under there- It's not in the budget right now. Maybe one day in the not so near future.

Once again Ryoken; you are absolutely correct. I received my 2nd replacement shaft and it too was a generic blank.
I looked on the package slip and this one was shipped directly from Superior Axle & Gear to my door step.
They called me "Apex Motorsports". I guess they can only ship to a business address.
I called Summit and they called Superior. I guess the guy we talked to at Superior didn't tell the guy in the warehouse & he sent me a blank again.
As frustrating as it is I am not bashing Summit, I am now bashing Superior Axle & Gear's warehouse guy.
I noticed they didn't send me a return slip. Does that mean I get to keep the part? :dunno:

Clear as mud eh?

This is the rear axle shaft from GM 10 bolt 1/2 ton. 28 spline shaft. This was the stock axle for my rig (GQ1). The 8.5" ring gear; R&P ratios are 3.08:1.

The GM 10 bolt and the Dana 44 are very similar. I don't even know the difference between the 2.
