ok, I'm starting design for my x-member and have a question.. i've looked through some of the x-member threads, and not sure if i've seen this discussed...
I'm doing 2" x 2" tube.. I'm thinking of using bushings out near the frame, as a removal method for the x-member, and trans mounting.. with stand-offs off the frame...
something like this...
either cage tie-ins, like this to the frame..
or even more likely, 2 x 2 tube welded into these, with backing plates...
extending out like 4 to 6", welded to a bushing setup, then 2 x 2 out the other side for the rest of the x-member...
welllllll, the question is, will a multi-point mount like that be ok for a trans mount? or will that be too much steel mounted to, and coming off the adapter and put too much stress on, and crack the adapter?
otherwise I'll bushing it right off the adapter, then do some other disconnect method over at the rails... any input is appreciated!
