I picked up 2 xj steering shafts and installed one in my burb buts its about an inch to long. Now I know its a direct bolt on and some of you guys are running them but how did you get it to colapse to fit. Do I have to cut the sleeve off complety or cut about an inch off. Can you post pics of where you colapsed it from Thanks:confused:

What is the benefit of running an XJ shaft instead of the Chevy shaft?

If you look closely you will see some plastic pins that need to be drilled out then it will collapse easily. IIRC they are about 1/8" diameter pins.

i just put mine in today, i got it from the xj we scaped in automotive class. it was an 88 4x4. it took me like an hour. the plastic sleeve, just moved down when i hammered the shaft 2 colapse it.

if anyone can ship me one of these shafts i would really appreciate it
cant find any out here

If anybody wants one let me know and I will pick one up next time I go to pick n pull. Let me know all your info. by email and I will let you know when I go. I get them for $14 so that plus shipping.
