1. the burb
2. for the love of god why wont you upload the dan video? its not that hard

I was expecting a yellow suburban by the thread title. Please explain what you meant by "Sub", I am lost, and it is now driving me nuts for some reason.

he already said its because he calls it the yellow submarine. READ

so theres a little bit of pirate4x4 in all of us...

its pretty fun to stand up in the back through trails like that. as long as the driver doesnt do anything dumb. when i take my truck out all of my friends are hanging out the windows. probably not a good idea :o but thats how we roll

wow nice flex with the 52's, i need to do that. I saw you at the fishhook a little while ago, Blazer looks killer although it had doors on it. When i finish my motor swap, we need to go hit some trails.

Oh crazy, yeah the fishhooks fun with the 52"s . Actually surprisingly not too bad. I'm used to how much i can push it around turns now. The lev o gage helps to lol. Yeah hit me up and well do it for sure. Anywhere around here besides hollister you wheel?

Ok so I've been driving it on the street and wheelin it and I'm totally happy with the 52"s, probably one of the best mods I've done so far. I drove it with only one shock for about 30 miles and I realized the shocks make a huge difference. It was pretty sketch without a shock, a LOT of body roll. There is body roll with the shocks but nothing too bad. The ride is much smoother, there is a huge difference sitting in the front seat and the back seat.

Offroad the springs are amazing. They flex great but I really need bumpstops (workin on it). The crossover steering is workin great too, I replaced the power steering pump and I can kinda steer at a stop now. I'm gonna do the pump mods and see what happens then.

I've now taken the truck all apart again, doing the 64" swap/shackle flip in the rear now, gettin rid of the blocks fianlly. Got the new springs from the pick n pull from a '97 2wd chevy. Wire wheeled em and painted them with gloss black just like I did for the front. Getting the truck ready for a big wheelin trip dec 1st and 2nd at hollister hills. Any of you guys down to go let me know. Should be a lot of trucks out there. More progress and pics soon

ARhgha I hate rivets....still two down and not making progress. Anyone in the bay area wanna show me how its done? Or have a torch, air chisel, or anything that would make this easier than using a drill?

i use a grinder and cut lots of little slots in the heads, then grind them the rest of the way off with the stone....it take a few minutes per rivet depending on what soze grinder you have...

Wow, taking the rear brackets off, the shackle hanger, is rediuclously easy. I took the grinder and a bunch of slots thru the heads like I have been and like you said, then ground about halfway thru the hanger, two hits with the sledge and it was off. Did the first one in like 20 min. The front ones are still a PITA but I think I'm just gonna grind all the heads flat and hit the whole thing with the sledge and hope i dont tweak it

Allright so i finsihed the 64"s swap awhile ago. Works great, rides like a caddy and flexes like crazy offorad. Doesn't handle too bad on the street either, I got used to it. I moved the DIY4x flip so the fornt holes line up with the rear holes for the the stock hanger (its not flipped around). I moved the front hanger so it lined up with the 4 rivets for the body mount (its differnet on other years- 78 and up i think are differnet). Axle is in the stock location and the the shackle angle is perfect. mORE PICS coming soon

Nice build. I'll be checking back for more pics of the 64"s.

I hate to be a downer - but you guys are gonna kill or maim somebody wheeling with people hanging out of your truck all over the place. What if somebody slipped and had an arm, leg, or head between your truck and the wall in that last pic?

It is not worth the risk.
