I took my t-case down and noticed that my tranny drips a good amount of oil out the output saft is this normal???? i put some rags just to prevent any dirt getting in there and a day later they are soaked in oil....

Dang.... you learn something new everyday....the adapter has an o type seal right,,, this thing doesnt have it...time to buy me a box of silicone..

dont do the rtv thing it will leak.

go to a local tranny shop and ask for 1 or find any th350 or 700r4 with 2wd tail housing and pull it off 4 bolts and grab it.

so the adapter uses an o style seal and when someone uses a clocking ring what should be used on the t-case side?

tranny side to tcase adaptor = square lip o-ring seal.

tcase adaptor to tcase = gasket.

there is a input seal on the tcase of round 6 pattern style and 203 fulltime tcase. 205 had the seal on the adaptor. keeps the oil away from tranny as auto's dont like gear oil.

if using rtv for tcase adaptor to tcase use form a gasket / rightstuff / or somthing like that. not just reg old rtv. make a small bead around the areas that need seal and let it tack up 15-20 min then install all surfaces free of oil's . let cure and fill the tranny to level as oted on dipstick. and recheck the tcase level also.
