Gonna start off by saying TIA for everybody's patience on another tailgate window issue.
The original switch was toast so I got a generic three blade switch and put spade connectors on the wiring, worked just great for a few weeks. The key switch in the tailgate quit working some time ago, and now using the switch in the dash it stopped working as well. Ran a hot wire directly to the fuse block (bypassing the factory hot wire to the switch) and it will now roll up only, no downage. I've narrowed it down to which wire is the offending suspect. In my attempt to clean up the wiring I "may" have been a little overzealous at cleaning up unknown wires and probably hacked this one wire somewhere on the truck. In the pic it's the wire on the left (blue one is apparently UP, tan/white was the original power wire I bypassed). In theory I should be able to run a whole new wire back to the tailgate to replace the pink one, right? Anybody know which wire in the tailgate is "down"? I did bypass the safety switch in an effort to eliminate that as a possibility, and I have a new cable from the motor to the regulator.
