Buddy's truck has a York compressor for onboard air (OBA). We added oil but it looks like it's leaking right back out. Doesn't look like it's coming from the shaft. Curious if anyone has some inside what could be leaking under the compressor. I figure we'll probably have to pull it off to look, but thought I'd ask in case anyone has seen this before.

There's a bolt/plug on each side of the case. View attachment 497550Could have loosened/backed out a little and be leaking.
That makes sense. Might need a little locktite on that plug. And a new oring.

Is it just how the image is or is the tag pinched in the parting there?
I think it's just bent, but I can double check. It makes pressure just fine, so I think it should be clear.

Could also be leaking out the plate gasket on the bottom, which is the side in that orientation.

I thought I had a york service manual in my pdf files, but I can't seem to find it. It had all the answers.

Found it...

Yep, I made one, and it changes depending on the mounting angle.

I'd be willing to bet it's either the shaft seal behind the clutch or that baseplate. Kinda looks like it has a different baseplate on it than factory, part of the mount?

I thought that at first too about the baseplate, then I realized they have it mounted horizontal, so we can't see the actual baseplate.

Yep I see. Went back and referenced how the tag orientation is. Could be that side plug that is behind the mounting plate or most all of them I've ever done as a/c compressors the front seal is the leak.
