Well, lads, the first part of the calendar project is over. I just spent 3 hours sorting through all the submissions, and at this point there are over 30 members(with a total of 57 pics) on the shortlist. Somehow I need to get that number down to 12 + a cover pic, which I might add is gonna be a sonovabitch to pick from all the awesome entries.

Anyhow, a huge thank you goes out to each and everyone of you who took the time to get your cameras out and make sure the pics you took found my inbox.

Between all these awesome pics and our new-found ability to print on glossy paper, the 2011 Rigs calendar promises to be the best one yet!

All the pictures are printed out, tacked to the wall and then he puts on a blind fold, ties on a really good buzz, spins in circles and throws darts.

Kim and I print off every single shortlist pic, arrange them on the garage floor, and slowly eliminate pics until we get down to around 20 or so. We wait a few days and then settle on the last 12. Keep in mind that, to keep the calendar interesting, we need a mix of vehicle types and colors in varying poses, with varying seasons and scenery in the background. Trust me, it's tough to get it "just right", and just because certain pics don't make it into the calendar doesn't mean they aren't awesome in their own right.

It's the only way I could think to do it without having the calendar turn into a popularity contest, and it's worked for 7 years so far......

Nope, you will have to wait until they arrive. At least since I have been here, and ordering the calendars, that has been the way it is done. Kim and Paul have an excellent eye, and I have always loved the calendars. I keep them and my favorite pictures are up on my walls in the garage.
