LOL, I have to admitt, my wife hunts more than I do. In fact, 2 or 3 of the last deer that found their way into our freezer were from her. Last year she went hunting only one day... but shot 2 bucks. Her reason, she's a busy woman, and didn't have time to mess around.

She's also the reason I have the Detroit for my D60F.. I was holding off on buying one, and she talked me into it. What a gal... I think I'll keep her.

...and I wanted something that i can take my little girls in, and do something off road related, as a family.

So, once it's up and running, I would say I'll be right at the intermediate level. :cool1:

Sounds like your wife and I have a lot in common. Except, this year my hubby did more freezer fillin with a couple of archery 2pts(you'd probably call 'em 6pts out east) and I got the trophy with the archery deer in my avatar, and a 54" rattler. I probably won't get to hunt much with a newborn this year, so it's a good thing I did ok last year. Only bad thing about sharing hobbies like hunting with your spouse is things start getting pricey when you have to pay for two, but I guess it'll be even more when the kids are old enough to do more than tag along.
I bought the burb for the same reason, haul all the kids and all the stuff, too. If it was still just me and the hubby, I'd probably buy an 87 truck again. The more the merrier though, right? I'm hoping I'll have plenty of time to tinker with it since I won't be hunting much right away. Easier to head out to the garage during naps than out to the desert.:)

Being 17 i want to hit everything i can and make it look as easy as possible but i don't do things that will kill my body or roll me if i break a 10b.... at least not until i get lockers, gears, and cromos... then i will have a lot more faith in the good ol' 10bs.

I used to go out with a chick that had her own dirtbikes, quads, and was a hunter and hot... if you can, hold on to em cause their hard to find anywhere.

oh yeah.. i voted moderate offroader.

uh no. 120 pounds with dd's at 16 years old.

you left out the hot part.

that chick could have had any guy or girl in that school.

Luckly, we only have to walk outside... no other costs except tags, guns & ammo. LOL, a couple of years ago she was changing tha babys diaper in the living room, and saw an 8 pointer in the yard.. she stepped out the back door, came around the corner of the house, and dropped it.

I probably would not do any hunting at all if I had to pay to do it... heck I hardly hunt now, and I can go everyday for free..

I say everyday.. cause we have axis as well as whitetails on our land.

Yeah, I would imagine y'all would hit off.. she's into scrapbooking too :D

I'll stop hi-jacking threads now..

Wow, sounds like we were separated at birth. :D j/k. Also, sounds like you guys live in heaven, I'm jealous.

I could talk about hunting all day, but I'll stop highjacking now, too, sorry. :wink1:

I put moderate off roader even tho i havnt even been able to take my truck offroad. My friends and I try to go atleast once a week in the summer and whenever we feel like in the winter. The winter wheeling we've been doing is just go on the ice till you break through then get pulled out, it needs to start getting warmer soon!

My truck is also naked... I'm busy making her pretty :)

I'll probally be a fairly light-core wheeler though, I won't wanna wreck the truck's body, lol I'll likely do some mud bogging, but if I decide to do any serious trails, I'll buy a 4x4 beater for playing in. The K25 is more of a work truck than a play toy :)

Had to vote "Naked", but if my junk ran, I'd be "Moderate".

I need me another truck to have for a project to make a wheeler :waytogo: hope to get another k5 when one pops up for the right price (read; dirt cheap)

opps!

I voted, and then looked @ the def. for each one
I'm a weekend wheeler, I eat, sleep, breeth, WHEELIN'!
If the trail is too eazy I get board. I have the '84 Burb as my DD/fam. wheeling rig.(read: nothing to crazy) I have an '82 F150 as my all out trail rig, I can drive it 2 and from the trail, but it's only leagle/drivable enough to do that. But I DON'T compeat, I don't like the whole "do it as fast as U can" thing. I like to take an obstical @ my oun pace and not break stuff (I'm too poor to re-place $100-$1000 worth of parts every month) but I'll try anything once :cool1:

i guess im an intermediate. I just go out to have fun most the time. That and the fact that my first and up untill about a month ago my only good 4x4 was my 80 Chevy LUV, i dont realy do alot of extreme stuff and as such im perty happy whith my stock K-5. I mean im used to running whith about 100hp and the same for torque 28" swampers and manual brakes and steering. The K-5 is an awsome machine, and has a 4" shorter wheelbase :cool1:
Honestly the only real reason i own older trucks is becouse i enjoy working in the shop whith my dad. And if i break something out wheeling its just more fun time in the shop.

I just enjoy building my K5. I sit at work and think about what I want to do to it when I get some wrench time in. People don't understand why I don't take it out and beat the snot out of it after putting so much time and effort into making it capable. I just like working on my Blazer, fabbing parts for it and turning wrenches.

When I want to go off roading and get serious I take my honda foreman.

I love trucks and every aspect of them, and I love to watch other people wheel their trucks, but when it comes to me personally I would rather tear up and abuse my quad offroad and tinker with my k5 in the shop.

Im weird

I guess I'm weird too b/c I have to jump in that category w/ you. I have a '90 K5 that I got in '92 when I graduated high school. It was pristine then and still is. It has NOT had a hard life at all. I got it to go to college in, so for 4 years it just drove around town basically except for a few months during hunting season. Now it's a second vehicle. It is loaded with every option and I just can't bring myself to "wheelin" and risking damaging it. I need to find an older truck and use it to wheel I guess. I'm w/ you on the 4 wheeler as well. I've got a Polaris 500. I use it to wheel. It's even in pristine condition too. I'm a neat freak. (Even if I wanted to go wheeling in my truck I would not know where to go around here. I don't know any other members of this site and really don't know anyone else who is into that sort of thing.)

saturday morning, 2:00 a.m., i was making an hour drive in my 89 k-5:k5: , 35 degrees with the top off, to go pull out my long time buddy and his college roommate, in his brand new z-71:truck: , that was stuck up to the tops of the fenders. thats dedication. lol:D

my 4wheelin was limited because my jeep cj3 is broken more then it runs,so I started wheeling my 78 suburban3/4ton . the sub allways runs and Ive not broken it yet so I get much moore wheeling in now. soon my jeep will be all chevy!:D

I go as much as I can afford to go when my K5 isn't broke. I ride along when it is broke. In central Texas, you have to pay to play as there are only private ranches to wheel on. Each weekend of wheeling will cost at a minimum of $150-$200 for fuel towing you junk there fuel for your 4x, and paying your fee's. That is cheap too. Add in the cost of food/beverages and it can get way up there  The closest place to wheel from my house is 2 1/2 hours towing (excluding one place in San Antonio which is questionable on legality but it is free and is 90 minutes).

I like to go out once a month but the ranches close in October for hunting season and don't re-open until late Feb. That time is used for mods and repairs.

i am new to the wheelin game and my rig is not set up for it YET. but i plan on doing a lot in the future

Hmmm........ seems kinda strange some people have to pay to go wheeling.:what: I always kinda took it for granted that you hit the dirt at the end of the block and headed out to the hills . I couldn't imagine someone charging you to lock it in and go 4x4ing. Where I live you have to have a 4x4. There are some towns you cant even get to when its muddy or snowy withouout one. Owning a 4x4 is just a fact of life, if you want ot get around off the pavement. There are very few paved roads in the county where I live. Elko county NV is bigger than some states. There are only 2 highways that cross it. Most of the rest of the roads are dirt. Everyone here owns at least one 4x4. Cant get nowhere without one.

I guess you could say I wheel occasionally cause I wheel hard till break and it takes a minute to get the funds to upgrade the broken stuff. I also work on the weekends so getting the weekend off meens I have to work 16 hour shifts to make up time I am gone (I dont like double shifts!). I do enjoy wheeling even in the easy to moderate stuff too. Anytime I can get out in the mountains and lock the hubs is a good time.
