I'll take your word on that...glad we never got to that point at the party!

Just did some maintainance work on the bike...the oil leak I developed on the trip turned out to be NOT a shaft seal on the back side of the inner primary case, but a missing screw that held the primary chain adjuster that is attached to the inner primary.
One screw fell into the primary case (where the chain is from the engine to the clutch) and the other was loose...ifn' that screw had got caught in the chain...screw me, it could have broken a few $$$ items....Luckily for me it missed everything and just fell into the bottom of the primary cover.
2nd item was a swingarm bolt that had messed up threads on it, and the swing arm bolt was actually loose....don't know when or who messed with that, not really a reason to, but it was loose. I guess I probably would have noticed a swingarm bolt coming out before it fell out, but either of those items could have been a disaster on the trip....another good reason to wash the bike from time to time....give you a hands on check of the whole bike pretty much.

The affected areas...

The adjuster screws that came out/loose are the phillips head screws that hold the searated adjuster to the inner primary.
the bolt that came loose on the swingarm pivot is right in the center of the 2nd picture

Just reviewing the pics of the trip....man that was fokin' cool!

If you didn`t do such a nice job painting...we all might not have been ogling your work and noticed the loose bolts. :D

Glad it made it back for you in one piece! :waytogo:

That was fun having you around...can`t wait till next time! :thumb::thumb:

sounds like you got pretty lucky dave!!

evidently I did...that would have sucked to be doing 80 and have the clutch explode..:eek1:

Got the saddlebag repairs made (It fell over on me one day while fueling up...tore up the left bag pretty good, so got some insurance money to repair it, so repaint this time with no striping on the bag)
Headed out to NC today, hoping to dodge the storms and make Kentucky by this evening..about 400mi.
Going to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway (again) and hit the Wheels through time museum, my brothers place, Kittyhawk, the Outerbanks area, then back to finish the Blue Ridge before heading back home.

Sorry to miss ya Craig, we got our share of rain that day and getting to Lexington was over welcome...we did about 350mi and probably 275 was in the rain!

Have fun dude! Bike looks awesome

After we left Lexington, it has been nothing but GREAT weather.
we made it to Cherokee on Wed and rode the Blue Ridge Parkway up to Asheville, then Thurs we rode it up to Boone, got off there and headed southeast to my brothers place in Fuquay/Varina, got into the Neers Thurs evening, so Friday we slept in and then washed the bikes up first thing!...been having a great time here with a bbq party/ truck/tractor pulls/muscle-classic car collection/dealer, and today just chillin/grillin/laundry/tippin some neers and relaxing. been getting 42-48mpg so far and NO issues at all. Tomorrow we head out to meet up with Jonathon and tour the Mt. Olive pickle factory, then on to the coastal area by camp Legune/Morehead City and Tuesday we ride the ferry out to the outer banks and Cape Hateras, Kill Devil hills and Kittyhawk areas...I got a bunch of pics I'll sort and post when I get back to MI next week.

Great riding Dean! Hopefully the rain will hold off while we are on the outer banks tomorrow.
That will be a full day of touristy stuff!
Met up with Jonathon this am and went through the MT OLIVE pickle plant
