Restomod build for a late friend
So if you missed my back story in the ‘76 thread, I’ll do a brief recap.

A good friend passed away a few months ago due to COVID, and his son asked if I’d trade my K10 swb for this Blazer and I said of course!

Plans for now are my usual “getting it running and back on the road”, then see where the build goes from there.

So some pictures.

This is how it sat yesterday at my late friends house. Right next to his other 15 projects.

My buddies son was off today, so he loaded it on his trailer and swung by to swap the Blazer for the K10.

Once he left I dug in a little more to see what extra goodies I was working with.

Found a factory roll bar in it which is awesome!

Also found out it has an unknown brand 4” lift on it. And the factory option sheet!

I then dig out my old center console I’ve been saving. I finally have a use for it!

As for the roll bar, they were standard in all ‘75 Blazers ordered with a hard top. Oddly a ‘75 Blazer not ordered with a hard top also did not get a roll bar. Seems almost backwards.

Once I get the ignition cylinder replaced, the plan is to throw it on a trailer and give it a good scrub. And yeah, I keep going outside to look at it even after I’m done working on it haha

We go every year. Stay up too late the night before drinking beer, and then wake up with regrets in the morning. It’s a good time.

My father in law has a 75 K5 that's the same color but with the white stripe in the middle. Yours has WAY less rust.

I’m going to say this is legit 92k miles. With the condition this is in, it would be hard to believe it almost has 200k miles.
 
Once saw a civilian '70's K5 with a legit 40,000 or so miles on it.


However it had pushed a plow and spread salt it's entire life in Northern Michigan so there was about 50% of the body left.
