‘75 Fullvert Blazer- K5 Cody’s build- 8.1 swap***C10’s in the park*** Back to assembly.

Restomod build for a late friend
Yeah they are. I sold low back fronts for 750 in similar shape to those. They sold in 30 minutes. Sold the console for 250.

It will suck lol unless you’re one of those people who likes bodywork. I should’ve gotten those bigger panels like that for mine. Looks like they cover more area.

Finally got the window down and was able to open the gate. Very pleased to see there is no major rust on this thing. Need to replace the rear window crank as I do not have a key for it. I also need to replace a missing window track on the driver’s side.

But really I just wanted to see how clean it was, and I am happy.

Other than the photo bomb, the next post doesn’t have anything to do with the ‘75. But I did have another one follow me home today.

It’s an ‘84 with no motor. $500 and not sure what to do with it yet. My buddy seems interested in it, so I will most likely pass the savings on to him.

So I got the old ignition out, and swapped the new one in, but when I turn the key there is no resistance as if something is broken. I removed the cylinder again and it appears the rack is broken inside the column.

Does anyone have a part number for it? And how do I change them out?

Could be the rod that leads from the rack. I broke one on my '75. They are different between the tilt and non-tilt version.

Just thinking about it, drop the column at the mount and lower it down. That will give you access to the switch. It should have a couple 1/4" screws holding the switch on the lower end of the column. Pull it off and you should expose the rod. Pull down on it and see if it moves or not. It shouldn't move.

Here's a view of a tilt column assembly.

Did you get the rod out of position? Did you have to punch a hole in the column, or had someone already removed the ignition cylinder before you?
