‘75 Fullvert Blazer- K5 Cody’s build- 8.1 swap***C10’s in the park*** Back to assembly.

Restomod build for a late friend
Right on!
Do all the signals work too!?
Funny you say that. As I was pulling it in to swap the column, I noticed a had nothing out back. No brake lights or anything. Going to check grounds this week as the new column didn’t fix anything.

I don’t have signals or brake lights. No horn unless I pull up the hazard switch then the horn goes off!? :haha:

I need to buy a new signal switch cause I know mine is broken and the wiring was hacked.

I was just curious if yours worked.

Man I’m sick of rat crap. Good news is, he didn’t make it lol.

Plus what is in the trash can already.

All of that sitting in the passenger rocker box.

Dang dude, you were masked up as you cleaned up that crap right? Hantavirus is a real thing that comes from rodent poop. I'd be taking a silkwood shower after that mess.

Not much of an update from the weekend. Fixed the chewed wiring for the fuel gauge, only to find that the sender is bad. Diagnosed the running lights issue to a faulty headlight switch. I have headlights and brake lights, but nothing else.

Then just cause it was there, I decided to straighten the rear bumper with a floor jack and ratchet strap. It’s better, but the RH bracket and bumper are absolutely toast.

Then took it on a short drive around the block.

I haven't done them myself(I've done flat semi-truck windshields same style) but you pull the center strip which is the lock strip then spray it down with lube like simple green and fold the inner edge outward and work the glass out carefully. Getting it out with rock hard rubber will be the hardest. Get new seals and lock strip and lots of lube to go back in. Me personally I would just have a glass guy do it if they can for a reasonable price.

I recently did my suburban quarter glass and it wasn't awful. Used a plastic tool to work the seal around the glass and to get the lock strip in. Lots of dawn and water for lube. Took me a bit over an hour per side by myself with no experience.

I’d take out the lock strip and cut the outside of the seal with a razor. Just carefully push it out at that point. That seal isn’t worth saving. Have fresh new ones at the ready with new lock strip to put them back in.

Kept having an issue where the trans would puke fluid out of the dipstick during cold starts. Checked fluid level, and it was about a quart low, so I knew it wasn’t overfilled. Vent looked clear from under the truck, but once off it was clearly clogged. Had a brand new one sitting in my tool box, swapped them out and all good to go!
