Agree, I just think its weird that the odd side always seems affected more.While I agree that odd side only points toward a head or gasket issue, its unlikely a cam lobe or two would effect the whole bank. I think guide seals are a good guess.

It smokes constantly.My guess is the crappy o ring valve seals from that era. Does that truck have the typical blue smoke cloud on first start up? If so, definitely valve seals.
So you have me thinking on this one. That is the side that the PCV is located. I’ve always heard if it rattled it’s good, but I know that’s not 100% true. I bought a new PCV and wil be messing with this more tonight.Anything to do with pcv and where it's mounted?
And motor mounts. And bigger radiator.The exhaust is just a couple new down pipes.

Motor mounts are the same.
Well they are different, but if you unbolt the clamshells from your small block, and bolt them to the big block, it will work just fine. You don't have to change anything.
